We spend a lot of time in our offices, so spend a little money on it and on yourself:

• If you’re not happy with your office chair, and your firm won’t spend money on getting you a new one, treat yourself to one that provides back support.

• You may want to consider investing in a standing desk.

• Get your own coffee station. I have one. Sometimes you just want the coffee you want with the add ons you want.

• Put up the diplomas, the awards, the family photos.

• Consider something extra (first get office approval). Perhaps a mini bar, a record player, a stand up video console - something to turn your office into a place where folks feel comfortable to congregate and get together.
